So,

I'm ready to pre-order the Pixel 4XL 128GB (or equivalent if they have any surprises at the announcement). Bugs and issues and all, I wanna get it at launch.

During the year I gather random phones that I use to trade in... Here's what I currently have to put toward the price of the new Pixel..

1) $500 in Best Buy Gift Cards.
2) One Plus 7 Pro 12GB/Ram 256GB storage
3) One Plus 6t 8GB/256
4) Google Pixel 3XL with 64GB storage...

Do you think that will cover the total cost?

Sheesh. I would hope so, and more for a nice case if you do that?

I agree, that is a lot of quality hardware you have to trade in.
Just curious, I've heard a lot of good stuff about the OnePlus 7. I haven't heard anything really bad and it looks like a pretty awesome phone. I may have just missed a lot of the negative reviews. But I'm curious why you would want the pixel for XL instead of what you have.

And I'll say, if you need more money than what all of that will trade in for then... I cannot imagine how amazing the Pixel 4 has got to be to justify such a cost. I mean, It better be able to read my freaking mind. well... I take that back. I don't look when computers Read our minds. But, you know what I mean. Lol

The OP7T12/256 what's the absolute best phone I've ever owned in my entire life. However, the camera would just not cut it. And 95% of what to do if my phone is the camera. I was bummed, but it is what it is.

Oh yeah. I think I easily forget that downside from the reviews because I can't bring myself to care. I mean, I care that you care bc I wanted to know the reason you switched. Makes total sense. I just meant for myself. I would watch the reviews and come away thinking: that sounds like a sweet phone, I suppose because the camera part translated to blah blah blah blah in my head.

Signed, Jay "the guy you probably don't want to stop on the street to take a picture of you w your family bc he is a doofis whenit comes to telling a good pic from a bad one" B.

But seriously, that makes a lot of sense to switch. Thanks for answering.

I know you want to get it at launch, but don't forget black friday will be around 30 days later. As history has shown, its usually a $300 to $400 savings that week and then they do it again in December. Bought my P3 last year during the Dec sale at BB.

So which phone are you planning to trade?

I'll probably figure out the best combination that is the first to make it free... Lol. I'll see what I end up with!
In the meantime, feel free to send that 1plus7 my way. I'll take that terrible excuse of a camera of your hands!

Depending on your carrier ... I got a heck of a deal on my P2 on Christmas Eve through Verizon. I'm HOPEFULLY doing the same thing this year on the P4. Why jump in on launch when you could get a good deal on Black Friday or Christmas Eve???

Because I'm impatient as HELL! lol.

If getting the phone for best "deal possible" is your choice, then your plan is the way to go. Some people are more interested in getting it "first" rather than "cheapest", thus the pre-order choice.

Choices are always good. In this case there is no right or wrong choice.

Because by then the device is outdated and phone junkies are looking for their next fix.
