My WhatsApp pictures, videos and documents are missing in my gallery, but present in My Files?

My WhatsApp images, videos and documents all of a sudden disappeared from my gallery. The albums aren't there anymore. I went on to check My Files and they are still there, please what can I do?

Welcome to Android Central! Using your file manager app, look in the directory for the WhatsApp media. Is there a file called .nomedia? If so, delete that -- it instructs the system to ignore that directory and any of its subdirectories when scanning for media to show in the gallery.

Welcome to the forums. Open WhatsApp, tap the three dots top right - Settings - Chats and make sure this option is enabled.
