So, we both have EVO's. I have mine rooted and I am running AC ROM 2.5. I have it underclocked and undervolted. For the life of me I can't understand why in the hell is she getting WAYYYYY better battery life than I am. She leaves 4G, WiFi, and GPS on along with background data and let Use wireless networks to determine position. Still getting 10 - 14 hours with moderate use. I get that too but I have to turn all the other stuff off. When I turn that stuff on i drop to about 6 - 7 hours. I would go back to stock Froyo if it wasn't for wireless tethering being free :(

A good place to start would be to look at any apps you've installed. A poorly coded app can eat a battery in short order. A perfect example of this was the FB app. They used the wrong wakelock which basically prevent the phone from ever resting. That wasted a lot of battery and phones were dying all over the place. A rogue app is the cause of poor battery life 99% of the time.

We've run a bunch of tests and AC-ROM and a stock configured phone (no additional apps installed, WiFi off, BT off, GPS on, network location on) uses battery at almost exactly 1% per hour when resting.

Another thing to look at would be do you have the newest radios/PRI/PRL? These tell the phone how to talk to the towers and can impact battery. One more thing to consider as well is signal strength. Comparing your phone to your wifes when at home would be fine but unless you both work in the same office, comparing them during a work day wouldn't be accurate. She could have a better signal than you which would result in better battery life.

Hope this helps!

I know people don't like to hear it but a lot of the custom stuff people do to 'improve' things like battery life really don't at all.

We have two Evos too and she gets about same maybe a little more. I think some has to do with apps and some has to do with each phone's hardware. No two phones are the same even though they have same specs. Just like cars. Why is it that two identical cars driven by same person get different MPGs? It happens all the time.
I have stopped thinking about the battery life. I got extra batteries and always plug my phone in when I get a chance: car, home ect ect. Just enjoy it.

Something you might check...a lot of times when you get the phone from the store we switch the roaming mode under wireless networks to Sprint Only...if you rooted and flashed you would have been switched back to Automatic (default) and maybe hers is in Sprint only. If this is the case your signal is pinging from tower to tower always searching and hers is locked on to the Sprint tower. Just an idea. Usually one of the first things we check for SAR customers complaining about battery life.
