My Zenphone 5 cannot connect to PC

Whe n I connect zenphone 5 to PC, the PC does not recognise the device.
The message in the PC is Unknow USB device. I have down load Intel Android Driver but it not work. Please help me!

Welcome to Android Central! Have you tried a different cable? Can you also try connecting to a different Windows PC?

Same problem - almost - mine doesn't register at all. Tried both my linux desktop and laptop, and a windows PC. tried all my usb ports and more than 1 cable.

This happened before and I solved it once by using a different USB port, and another time by switching to MTP. right now it's on MTP.

I wouldn't mind re-learning how to reinstall the device drivers, but my problem started with being unable to access the files. I need to back them up somehow before going through with this. And I'm reluctant to back them up on the cloud.

Can anyone help?

I think it doesn't really work. You need to use a special cable (forgot the name) in order for your phone to work on your Smart TV
