Shoot I can't seem to attach a screen shot. It looks like a TV or monitor screen with a signal strength pie coming from the bottom left. It in my right hand status bar where my signal strength and battery icons are. I have a Huawei Nexus 6p

Welcome to the forums. That sounds like the cast icon. Are you using Chromecast?

Yeah, it looks like the cast icon. What's that video icon on the left side? What do you get when you expand the notification shade? I've read a couple of reports about the Facebook app having a bug when you watch videos. If you have this app, go to settings - apps - select Facebook - force close and see if the icon is still there.

I'll move your thread to the 6P forum where it'll be easier getting feedback from other owners.

Thanks guys I am a newb to chromecast, thought you were referring to Comcast cable company LOL. So, yes it is chromecast. So a couple followup questions, what the heck is chromecast? Second, how do I shut it off?

Chromecast is a device (or range of devices now) that allow you to stream content to your TV or stereo. It's an easy way to get YouTube, Netflix, Google Play Music and other services broadcast to your TV for others to enjoy with you. That particular Chromecast icon may be to cast your entire device screen to the TV/Chromecast. To turn it off, pull down from the top of the screen with 2 fingers, locate the icon in the quick settings panel (you may need to swipe) and tap it, it should turn off.

I actually have that icon hidden, any app that supports Chromecast will have the button evident within the app and you can then tap it to broadcast that app only to the TV.

Chromecast is a service from Google. It allows you to "cast" video (such as YouTube, Netflix, etc) to another device (such as a game console, smart TV, etc). Basically, you can control your big screen from your phone by using Chromecast. There's a physical device offered by Google that lets you do this, but it's also built into a lot of other devices. I have a new smart TV from Vizio and it has Chromecast built in, so I can watch Netflix on my TV and control it from my phone.

As for turning it off, it should only pop up when you activate the service. In the screenshot you posted, it looks like you're watching a video, so the icon is likely telling you that it's trying to "cast" to another device. To stop it, just go into the video app and turn off the cast feature.
