I have two email accounts (+gmail).
One is with talktalk.net and the other with tiscali.co.uk.
The talktalk one connects normally as does gmail and all web sites.
The tiscali one over recent days requires a reboot to connect to the server otherwise the wheel just goes round and round.
The settings are all correct and having checked the in and out settings and 'done' it says 'Unable to connect'.
I don't normally switch the N7 off, just leave it in standby.
Wifi is strong.
When I check emails later it will have the same problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
P.S. It isn't the server's fault as it works normally on the desktop.
Thanks.

Thanks.

Apparently the ougoing port should be 25 and not 587 as per TT info.
That cured the problem, but reverts to 587 on its own.
Any way to save the settings?
I have cleared all caches.
Thanks.

I also have a Tiscali account so I thought I'd try setting up my email on the Nexus.
So far I have been able to send okay but the receive still doesn't work.
As you say the outgoing port always reverts to 587, very odd.
Sorry this is not much help but you are not alone.
Mike

Welcome to the problem!
The first time I put in 25 it downloaded emails. Thought I had solved it, but no.
It accepts 25, but by the time you get back to the email box it has reset.
Strange, because it has worked seamlessly for six months displaying 587 which was the original
input.

After about 30 removals of the account and setting it up again it has logged in.
Bet it doesn't last though.

Correct-- it crashed again.
I must have made about 50 attempts today removing and resetting the account.
About 3 hours ago it connected for 10 minutes and then went back to port 587.
There must be someone out there who still has the problem.
Talktalk say that some Android devices have known problems. Try upgrading software--well I am on the latest.
