n00b how do I change boot image?

Hi folks this is my first post and I am a n00b who has recently rooted and installed Xionia. I created my own boot animation which was fairly easy. Now I would like to change the initial boot image on optimus v which seems tricker. Can anyone provide a step by step guide or point me to an existing link that works? My eternal gratitude.

Really, it's one of the more extensive things to change.
The initial LG logo, forget it. The first animation, is difficult because of not only where it's buried, but how it's constructed too. It's not a gif or even a simple png file. The "Android" animation is relative simple, but easy to break your phone doing it (easy to fix). Beyond that, it has VERY limited customizability.

And then use that 5-10 second to look away from your screen and interact with actual humans. Once the phone boots, you can go back to playing angry birds and texting.
