N7 2013 Lollipop What does a white star (next to wifi and battery symbol) upper right signify?

re:

Priority notifications is on. You can review the setting in Settings > Notifications

Nexus 4, star in the up bar

Please help me.

In the top line where hours and the wi-fi badge are located, there is a star (you can see it in a sscreenshot). I can't understand for what app it is responsible. Help please. On screenshots it is visible.

Thank you for your help.

It means that priority notifications is on. Look at the video posted above your message to understand how it works.

I've just had the lollipop update on my Asus MemoPad 7 (ME176) and had a similar problem with a hand appearing but with a no entry symbol next to it in the notification bar. Turns out this was the same as above so anyone who gets this issue - Asus have changed the icon but its the same function that is on (hand w/ little star = priority notications & hand w/ no entry symbol = all notifications muted).

45 minutes of my life lost figuring that out - hopefully Google's search spiders will ensure everyone else can find it in just a few seconds

Thanks everyone for your answers and yes Google found this in 3 seconds. Then again 8 months have gone by since some of you asked this question so one would hope that search engines would have Sussed some algorithms for this topic? Personally I use duckduckgo as my default, not a fan of having my every movement tracked by Googles spiders!!!!!

It means your sound profile is set to "do not disturb"

Ben why is your answer different to everyone else's. Only asking as I've only just got Lollipop. I hate upgrading, especially when a lot of things were perfectly fine as they were! Not bothered with material design in the slightest! I just want speed! The faster the better!
