I don't know how long it takes to mass prduce smart phones. So excuse the naive question. But is it possible my future S3 is already made and sitting in a warehouse somewhere right now??? (my carrier is AT&T)

The best numbers from a recent story estimated they have a 5 million per month capacity. They have over 9 million carrier preorders. It is not known if US carrier preorders are included in the 9 mil number.

So it is possible they have some made. We also do not know when they started mass production either.
