Naked? How's your One holding up?

Okay, so puns aside, I'm not usually a case guy at all, but after getting a One about four months ago now and seeing how damn stylish it was I very quickly got a case to protect it. Since then I've tried a few different cases, and whilst I don't mind them (and quite like some), every time I take a case off I'm just stunned by how good the One looks and feels - both asthetically and to use - without a case on. So I'm considering going caseless, but am concerned that my One will get dinked and scratched and that the 'hot damn!' factor I'm after will soon be lost forever.

If you've used the One for a considerable length of time without a case, how does the phone hold up under normal use?

I had my Sprint HTC One for like 3 months fine.. Then got my T-Mobile HTC One and I've had it about a month a half... Zero issues what so ever. I am just careful and also don't put it in with keys or anything.

I got my One on launch day, and was going naked with it, but noticed a major scratch on the screen. I bought a case and screen protector for it, and have used them ever since.

Black HTC one, naked for 2 months. Great condition besides hairline scratch on back due to normal wear and tear. Not deep enough unless you look very closely.

Had mine since May, never had a case on it. So far no damage at all. This phone just looks to good to hide.

I got a Zagg screen protector at time of purchase; the screen is really the only part of the phone I worry about. I'm pretty careful with this phone and after a month there's only very minor scuffing on the edges and back. Though I did order a bumper case; not for protection directly so much as ease of holding. It's so thin and smooth it'll slide right out of my hand.

I think Zagg makes full body kits the one too. You can keep visibly naked while secretly caring enough about it to keep it protected.

Had it since right after launch. Only use a case with my four year old around. 98% of the time no case. Not a mark. It's all how careful you are.

Fine here - just a screen protector once - dropped it twice on holiday (I was drunk lol) and got little nicks in the bottom of it once when I even had a basic case on - prefer it so much without a case .

I have had my One for about 3 months and have generally used a TPU case with no screen protector. No scratches on the screen. I have now being going naked for the last few days and wondering how (those of you with the silver one) you have found the white plastic, both on the sides and on the back,is holding up in terms of discoloration.

I think the silver One would have looked a lot better if they had used black plastic instead of white. ...but I guess they had to offer one with white in it to attract the iPhone converts. I can't think of why else HTC chose white plastic instead of black platistic for the silver model.

I've had a silver One for about a month and a half now, and it's holding up very well. For the first month it was without any form of protection, and then I took advantage of the ShopAndroid Deal of the Day for the BodyGuardz Carbon Fiber adhesive covering ($12 plus shipping). I have the back piece on, but not the smaller strips that adhere to the white polycarbonate on the sides of the device. There are a couple small nicks in the metal; they're the result of two drops at night onto concrete. I will say that the carbon fiber cover looks great, feels great, and has definitely protected the back.

The One is solid and tough, that's for sure. Those two drops onto concrete would likely have done significantly more damage to most other phones.

That BodyGuardz adhesive film looks pretty swank. I'd get the red to put on the black One.
