Naked?

i take my maxx out of the ottercase about once or twice a week just to give the case a good wash, and wipe out any dust that has got under the screen protector.

the other day i actually left it out and played with it for a bit, since i wasnt going anywhere, and it felt like a completely different phone, and the screen was so much clearer!!

if it wasnt for having a my job, i might actually leave it out.. but knowing me ill have one of those murphy times when im kicking myself saying " the one time you leave the case off and look what happened!!!" lol!

my daughter leaves her case off sometimes, but i remind her if she breaks it, its back to the basic phone lol!!

TPU cases here (one white, one smoky colored).. I alternate them just for variety.

The white one is a Cimo S-Line, and the "smoke" one is the Cruzer Lite Androidified A2.

I like both, but they both have shortcomings with the power button.. The Cimo makes it too hard to push the power button, especially while operating one-handed. The Cruzer Lite is a little better, because the volume and power are cut-out.. However, due to the thickness of the TPU, you still need to get your finger(s) in the openings and apply some pretty good pressure.

Anyone using a good ol' silicone case? (I had one on my NS4G and thought it worked fine, and was softer around the buttons). Recommendations?

i know this is an older post....but I wanted to share.....my Razr Maxx isn't "NAKED" anymore.... its carbon fiber.....

i've physically chucked my phone.... no damage ::thank the lord::
i've physically keyed the screen..... no damage ::sighs::

it has life time warranty.....so i can change out the color anytime as well as the screen protector....

holds well in hands and isnt slippery.....
touch on screen is not laggy nor non-responsive....

i like it.... cuz theres also no 'bulk'..... :)

Any chance we could get side pictures? Thinking about ordering one :-)

Do you use a screen protector? If not, any scratches yet?

okay.....so LdotAdot13 (and anyone else)......

here are several pics from various angles......no scratches yet......

as you can see.....the back side from all angles are NOT dirty, nor do they have finger smudges/grime.....(and yes, I JUST TOOK these pics right now with my digital camera)....so the pics are as current as we speak since i had the skin put on it (Aug 10th).....

**REMEMBER**....you can ALWAYS change out the color (lifetime warranty).....if one day you're feeling red, you can go have them put a red skin on.....there's green, yellow, (now navy blue), purple, black and white.....

my front also has the same materiel (carbon fiber) screen protector on it.....

you physically CAN TAKE your car keys to it....and scratch it as hard as you want.....(yes, it will mess it the screen protector up).........

BUT......

it will not mess up/scratch up your phone (when you remove the screen protector).....

AND YES....they will replace the screen protector if you scratch it up (purposely or not) if you wanted it changed........same with the color parts.

typically (as i was told), the skin should last you about 2 years before you should have to get it redone (meaning have a new skin put on)......but its really dependent on how rough you are with your phone....

with my phone and skin on it.......so far no scratches, no damage.....and yes, i am rough with my phone!

IMO, im satisfied with the product.

I also bought two TPU covers (before i even came across the Carbon Fiber Skin).....in white and in Purple.....

and as you can see (in the VERY LAST PIC).....i am able to even put on the TPU covers on OVER the skin....with NO DAMAGE to the skin..... ::win win situation for me:: :)

No screen protector, no scratches yet. I never pocket my phone in the same pocket as my keys.

Good to hear, I'm about to start doing a case with no screen protector. Lol

I have a Razr Maxx that I have been running naked for about 3 months. I have dropped it a few times. Fortunately, the Razr Maxx is well built so that it can take the abuse. Anyway, I continue to go unprotected. I typically slide the Razr into my shirt pocket. Any gel case makes it more difficult to slide into my pocket.

I also have a S3. I have a case around it. That phone sits idle most of the time. I can't risk dropping it in that it's all plastic rather then aluminum as is the Razr.

I do have a screen protector (sold by Verizon). Funny, I haven't changed it since I bought the Razr several months ago.

Try a Cruzer Lite case. The material doesn't make it more difficult to remove and adds minimal bulk.

I use the Cruzerlite case too I have one in green and also black for "formal ocassions" :p ...I use the Car Dock when I drive so I need a case thats easy to get on and off and the cruzerlite fits the bill.

I have dropped the phone once onto a tile floor and the cruzerlite protected it - not a scratch.

I have been using a Cruzer Lite with no screen protector for a week now. After that time, the case has done it's job but the screen has two micro-scratches only noticable in the right lighting environment. I figured I'd give it a go and it didn't work out even though my phone is kept alone in my pocket. :(

Oh well, my sister bought a RAZR Maxx today and opted for the screen protectors so I used one to protect my screen. Never again - I baby my stuff and the Gorilla Glass, while scratch resistant, does scratch. I know it's been said before, but I was HOPING it would be able to resist an empty pocket. :(
