? NamelessROM

thank you thank you thank you!! for making this rom work on my sprint phone. i was losing my hair trying to figure out the 3G issue. only issue i have now with your rom is that swype doesnt work.

it will swype the letters, but wont actually input. Just throws out a generic error sound? Any help?

This is hilarious. We take a Sprint rom, port it to Virgin Mobile. Then you port it back to Sprint :).

If you just have an issue with the hands free activation and 3G, delete the two apk files from the original Nameless rom. Flash it with signature verification disabled. That might make swype work again.

Did you wipe data before you flashed the ROM? If not go back to recovery and wipe data. Sometimes Swype stops working after switching ROMs with same data.

Testing now..I see. This could be caused by the apk being moved from a sprint phone. It says it was configured for a different device.

Fix: Remove the Swype apk and try replacing it with the Swype from a Optimus V system dump such as another rom .zip -or- Replace it with the newer Swype beta version at beta.swype.com

UPDATE:
Made a WORKING official V port straight from the Sprint ROM. The only issue so far other than Swype is the V picasticks kernel I planned on including.

For some reason the default.prop is missing from the boot.img that I repacked, making it unusable. Its my first time publishing a ROM and repacking a boot.img was completely new for me. I learn fast so I should be able to fix that within about a day.

Until Then Just flash the picasticks kernel .zip right after flashing the ROM and it works perfectly fine.

I think the official Nameless ROM for the V might drop tonight. It's beta because none of us actually own a V, so we cant test, but we know our way around a phone well enough :)

Yay, another rom to play with. Thanks for stopping by to give our community your contribution. It does not go unappreciated. From what I have read on it, it is a great rom.

doh! sorry, still learning.
so i just delete
com.sprint.ce.updater-1.apk
Mvpdm.apk

from system\app and wipe, install, and it should work?

I think i tried that the first time, and in the process of installing the rom, it gave me an error message about verification and wouldnt go further. do i need to delete it from anywhere else.

thank you

You have to turn off the verification option when doing it. :)

That should do it. Just remember to disable signature verification. You'll find it under the recovery menu item: "Install zip from sdcard."

That reminds me that when I made my version of the port and posted it just a few hours before the real ROM Optimus V was posted. (Made a thread because I didn't know.)
Well anyway the reason why I'm not having that issue is because I pass all my ROMs through the HTC Android Kitchen to convert the scripting to Amend for the newer recovery and the kitchen must auto-resign the ROM zip.

The ROM port I posted was Edify and was not resigned because it didn't need to be converted.

I was rushing with repacking a boot.img so I didn't notice.

Now isn't that the definition of epic fail?

Anyone should make sure they re-sign apks and the ROM zip before publishing a ROM.

I just made the original Sprint ROM .zip into a Optimus V port. I also changed the kernel to LGVM670 Picasticks kernel to be better compatible with the Optimus V. Its the same kernel as the S but its built from the V source.

Finally, I just have to flash it and test the ROM and then I can post an official port thread!

did you put it up yet? i would love to try this out.

It's the rom called reborn now and has its own thread
