Nandroid backup

What's the difference between a nandroid backup and backing up using CWM? I have been using CWM to backup my ROMs before flashing a new one. Am I kissing a cool feature or something? Recoveries always work great.

They are the same. Backing up with CWM Recovery is how you make a Nandroid backup in your case.

Older versions of CWM for older phones actually referred to the backup as "nandroid". Even though the current Thunderbolt version of CWM doesn't use this term, the name has stuck around.

Nandroid = backup created in CWM
