Native Messaging App w/ Google Voice for SMS Using Data Only

Is there any way or App (without rooting) that allows the native messaging App to send/receive text messages with Google Voice?

I clicked on the link. It says $1.99? And the description doesn't mention GV?

Nonetheless, I'm willing to spend $1.99 (or more). Only want to know:

1. It will replace the Native Messaging App?
2. I can send/receive SMS with my Data Plan only using GV?
3. When I send messages, it will show my GV #?
4. When I receive messages, I will see the number the message is being sent from?

You can give this app a try as it can be used with both carrier and Google voice if needed. I have this on my Nexus 7 so I don't know how well this works with the carrier number.

Why is Google Voice so important to you if you only have a data plan? Why don't you use something like Pinger Text Free?

Because my phone/text number that everybody knows is a GV Number. Also, I prefer to use the Native Text App if possible. I route my Voice Calls through Skype In/Out (GoogleVoice forwards to my Skype In Number, and my outgoing calls display my GV Number). For Voice Calls, I AM able to use the Native Phone App; it gives me a choice and I select Skype. I'm trying to achieve similar functionality for Text Messages using the Native App and my GV Number.

When I got it was free, maybe now not free anymore.

1. Yes you just set it as default program, that's what I do
2. I think so on this one. I use this program for regular SMS but I do have a GV number and I just tried and it works but I have a sms and data plan. Email developer and ask, he is very friendly.
3. Yes just tried it and showed my GV number to my work cell which I sent a message to

The default Phone App ASKS me if i want to use Skype or Google Voice when I try to place a call with it. (Again, I have a Data Only Plan). So, why doesn't the default Messaging App ask me if I want to use another App for my SMS?

Probably because you don't have a sim with a phone number. The native messaging app doesn't recognize using a data plan for SMS.

I installed TextNow (already had Google Voice). Stock Messaging App still does not ask.

The stock phone app does recognize using a data plan for phone service. When you open the dialer and go into the settings menu, you will see Internet Call Settings. The stock messaging app looks for info from the sim card.
