Hey guys. Was curious if anyone stuck with the 6t native messenger or switched to Textra or Android messages. I get bored easily so I'm always switching back and forth, just wanted to see what everyone else thought of it.

Left stock alone as I hardly use SMS texting anymore. Almost all of my friends and family are on WhatsApp so that is what I use 95% of the time.

I switched to Google messenger
The problem with Google messenger is the fact that it barely has any customization options, and the heads up notifications for incoming messages don't auto clear out which is annoying since the Nougat days

Someone told me that the stock app doesn't handle group messaging well because when you respond back it only responds back individually. Is that true?

I've been using Textra from the start but would be open to using the stock one if it was any good.

Whenever I used to use Google messenger, it handled group messaging just fine.

Is the stock app group Google messenger? I thought they had their own. I've used the Google messenger and I know it does work well on other phones

Yeah the stock Google messaging app is Android messenger.

I use Pulse because it has a desktop companion and I think it handles group messaging better than Textra.

I have no idea about that. I've never used Pulse SMS before. I've never had an issue with Textra, but I'll take your word for it.

I'm using Textra. I really like the customization and it seems to always work well. Stock message app doesn't really allow you to customize much.

I use the OnePlus app, it's really fast and works better for sending photos to my family members on the same carrier. The only 2 features it's for me are web previews and message scheduling
