Any idea if there are (what are) good GPS navigation apps that have downloadable maps? Google Maps Navigation is great, as long as you have Internet service. For times that you don't have service (like up in the mountains), it would be nice to have navigation with maps you've downloaded to the SD card.

It looks like Navigon is working on an Android version...are there any other programs?

World Explorer bailed me out when traveling where I didn't have service. It is not navigation, but you can download maps of any country at any/all zoom levels and still use GPS to track you.

actually google maps will continue to navigate even with no data connection as long as you stay on path. If you go off path though it will not recalculate.

And Maverick will let you pick a bunch of different map options, but all are online. However, it DOES continue to work as a gps even without data, and you can mark, track, etc., which is what we need in da woods sometimes.

Might have to check out that Copilot Live! $20 is a steal for an offline navigation app (Navigon for iPhone is $60)
