anyone ever turn on their gps and then try to get the navigation to work and it cant lock a gps signal? this happens on my phone a lot and i either have to restart the phone or wait forever for it to load. i find it weird that if i turn on my sprint nav it locks a gps signal right away and is usable where i have a 50-50 chance with the google navigation on my evo. sometimes what i do is turn on the sprint nav and then turn it off to get the gps signal to lock so i can use my google maps/navigation. anyone else have this prob in their evo?

Yes, I have been having this problem too. The google gps app takes forever to lock on a gps signal, on many occassions. Sometimes it doesn't lock at all. The problem only started to occur in the last 3 months or so. The sprint nav app, locks on the gps signal almost immediately.

Hope the helps. You can get the MSL Reader from the market.
Steps: 1. Open MSL reader and get your MSL (jot it down) 2. Launch phone dialer and dial ##GPSCLRX# 3. It will ask you for your MSL, enter it. 4. Upon hitting OK, your phone will just say reboot in 10 secs, let it reboot.

That may work (it did for me on CM7), but it requires the OP to be rooted (for MSL Reader) and running a Sense based ROM (for the GPS clear command).

You can get the msl. You don't think it will work on a stock rom?

i've had the problem with navigon.

at first it works for awhile. then reboots the phone. works for a breif period. then loses gps signal.

if i erase the file and redownload. i can go for awhile again. then it reboots. then breif period and loses signal. after that it's only a breif period.

copilot has the problem also. but it will last for awhile. it loses gps when it feels like. i reboot and i'm good. it has no set time. i can either last a full 11hour trip or last only 1 hour into the trip.

sprint nav however has been perfect. no glitches what so ever.

well, i can say the msl update didn't work.

phone still reboots. trashed my memory card. bought a san disk from radioshack on sale. phone still reboots. or just flat out loses gps signal.

This worked for me after I had GPS issues when moving from cM6 to CM7. It sounds more like a pain than it really is, once done rock solid GPS.

didn't work for me.

i run navigon and copilot. still had problems with reboots.

the phone rebooted so many tmes. i was 6 miles from destination when co pilot rebooted and asked for my license key to make it work again. had to pull over and spend 20 minutes on the side of the highway to make things work again.
