Android Central Question

Navigation does not work on my Xperia Z3 Compact D5803. When "Location mode" is set on "High accuracy" Google Maps shows a path from the origin to the destination but does not navigate. It says "Searching for GPS." When "Location mode" is set on "Device only," the program says, "Waiting for location".

The app "GPS Test" says 21 satellites are "In View" but 0 are "In Use." The "GNSS Status" is "No Fix". I have Android 6.0.1.

Google Maps Navigation did work on this phone at one point. The phone was never dropped. I have taken the SIM card out and reinserted it but that did not help. Any ideas on how to determine if this is a software or a hardware issue and solve the problem? Thanks for your help!

The SIM card has nothing to do with GPS - the GPS receiver is receiving the signals directly from the satellites. Try GPS Status & Toolbox just to be sure, but I suspect that your GPS receiver went bad or your firmware got corrupted (in which case you have to back up anything important, including any apps you may have installed - which you should always have current anyway - and flash the firmware again)..

IVE got the same problem with Nokia TA-1085. GPS worked for about a month, now standard APPS like Google Maps, WAZE, and Strava cannot locate GPS for directions or existing location.
