I have been looking for an app to replace my 3 year old Garmin GPS. The test was to drive to a rural location about 15 miles away which we were familiar with for a Christmas party. The destination has been in existance for 5+ years.

Results:
Sygic - couldn't find address. Disqualified.
CoPilot - couldn't find address. Disqualified.
Google Navigation - Found address & got us there but tried to take us a "shortcut" which was not a main road route. Also had destination on wrong side of the road.
Garmin Unit - Found address and got us there by the main roads. Maps in unit have not been updated for 2+ years.

So the Garmin wins. My trust factor of the Garmin is 9 out of 10 and Google Nav about 7 out of 10.

I would love to see a Google Nav+ with all the features of a Garmin or TomTom. I'd pay for it. Hard to beat the Google maps, especially with all the POI.

Anybody have a favorite nav app other than the ones above?

I have been using Sygic in the USA for a while and I love it. I love the offline maps and they do release new map versions about twice a year. I have never had a hard time finding an address or POI, but everyone will have different experiences with those kinds of things.

I have used nav free although I always check it can find where I want to go by postcode when connected to WiFi, as sometimes it can't, but if I do q google search within the app for the place, then it will remember where it is when I am offline :)

I am in Virginia USA & yes I do require offline maps since using with N7.

I'll try the Navfree again. I think I may have tried it.

Issue is I don't trust any of the apps I have tried. Maybe there will be an app soon that is as good as the Garmin. Sure hope so.
