I received the update as well. Too soon to tell about battery life. However, I just noticed that wifi scanning was enabled. Might have been the update, as I always keep it off. Wifi scanning eats battery life for sure.
Did you wipe the cache partition? It's usually good to do that after every system update.I also installed the security update but now my battery is draining like no other. On the drive home today it went from full to 90%. Then while waiting to pick up my daughter from school it dropped to 65% while only playing a game for 10 minutes. It used to drop while playing games and such. But not at this extreme rate.
Mine has been fine. See my post before your post. Have you tried wiping the cache partition?Since the update it is not playing well with my wife's iPhone. The first text I sent her after the update she keeps getting over and over, she has gotten it over 80 times since 5:00am this nothing. And she gets nothing else I send her.
Anybody have a clue or having the same issues?

Battery usage is bad and Bluetooth won't even turn on. I go into settings to toggle the actual Bluetooth and the toggle goes from the left to right, but it's stuck and the button/bar won't turn blue like it's been successfully turned on. Having issues with my Huawei watch too. and tasker has been running abnormally slow.
Wifi scanning is in Settings/Location/the 3 dots. Both wifi scanning and Bluetooth scanning can be enabled or not.Where is WIFI Scanning located in the settings?
