Nearby share to older devices

Hi everyone, I was wondering if it possible to do nearby share with my note 20 ultra to older devices like the S8? I tried looking online could not really find anything

Can in work in conjunction with android beam?

I think both devices have to be recent enough to support the feature. I think you can get the same general feature if both phones have Files by Google installed and you share files that way. https://support.google.com/files/answer/7577382?hl=en

Thanks I had not heard of this app. I guess android beam is no more in android 11

You have quick share in pull down notification panel , if u don't see the toggle , edit the notification panel to add it .

I forgot about Samsung's own Quick Share feature. From what I read, older phones require Android 10 for it to work -- is your S8 on Android 10?

I have a note 20 ultra it's my friend's S8, I believe it's android 9 but not sure

Agree I don't think s8 will get andriod 10
