Necessary programs running in the background

Hi,

With the Sprint Hero, what is required to run?

For instance.. i always see:

htciqagent

pcsync

com.htc.provider

OMADM


And does anyone know why mail keeps popping up if i've never opened it up or used it? Same with Messages. I use handcent and removed all the retrieval settings, so i'm wondering why it still turns on.

Anyway, thank you for any help.

I downloaded a taskkiller app and it shows those also, along with others. If I kill all apps I don't receive text messages. I just don't know which one belongs to the texts.
