Need a Bedside app that works when locked

I've been using the stock bedside app. It works fine even when the phone is locked. The problem with it is that it looks horrible. The background it very bright (not black) and if you dim it, it dims the letters but not the background. I tried Lightning Bug and it looks much better but does not work if the phone is locked. I need my phone locked at all times.
Anyone know of a great app that will simply show the time with a black background AND works when the phone is locked?
