Need a car charger for this phone.

I just got my Nexus 4 and am wondering if I can use my Seidio car adapter I had for my old phone. I know the Nexus 4 is rated 5v 1.2a on the travel charger. The seidio car adapter is rated 5.3v +/-.3 and 1a. So I would think this would be fine. I just want to make sure the 5.3v is not going to be a problem.

I just use the charger that I used for my last Samsung phone, which is a 5 volt 2 amp charger. As was already stated, as long as the output voltage of the charger is OK, the rate of charge is controlled by the phone, not the charger. The max current would be 2 amps. Any decent 5 volt charger should work fine. I got mine on Amazon a couple of years ago.

If the voltage is out of tolerence for the phone it should automatically not accept the charge.
Being .3 volts over should not affect it. With most chargers as the current increases theres a possibility the rectifier might step the voltage down slightly so if your full 1 amp is being drawn from the phone the input voltage might be 5V.
Just a guess, different manufacturers use different parts, some high quality and some low. The lower quality ones tend to have higher voltage drifts.

In addition to the last 2 answers, both reasonable, plug your phone into the charger and look in the Settings| Battery utility, check if it says "Charging (AC)" (taking more than 500mA current), or "Charging (USB)" (probably limited to 500mA or less, as per the USB spec). Of course, if it's not indicating "charging" at all, the Seidio charger is clearly not compatible.
