Need a music player

Same here, AT&T and no music app.

Only LG music app that I can find in the app store is LG smart audio.

I've used JetAudio Pro for many years on different phones and it sounds great. Found put about it on Cowon music players years ago and recommend it....but spend a couple of bucks to add the upgrades to allow some of the better add ins to work

Here is the version of the LG music player....View attachment 244400

Sadly the LG music player is not on the AT&T, and Sprint versions of the V20. Not sure about the Verizon version. And like others have said even if you install the "LG SmartWorld" store app it is not there either. Only music player they have there is this thing called "Music Flow Player" which works, but def seems mainly designed for streaming music to wireless speakers of some kind. Not a fan of the UI at all. Really weird to me that they would not put their native music player on the phone, thankfully on the AT&T version that's the only missing LG app. We have the gallery, messaging app etc etc.

I really wish LG would move more of their apps and features to the play store or at least SmartWorld (a really crappy app/store IMO) just so they could prevent carriers from denying customers apps like this (but AT&T made sure to load up plenty of bloatware ****). You could just download what LG apps you want from the play store. Also they could update them more often like Samsung dose with most of their stock apps and the "Galaxy apps" store app instead of only being able to update them with carrier approved system updates.

I haven't downloaded it yet, but I used Shuttle music player on my previous phones. Although as of late I haven't used any of my music on my SD card at all for months and have just been using Spotify and Pandora. Shuttle works well though. Fast scrolling, simple materialistic design, and it plays music :)

Does anyone have any input on how Google Music and the Second screen?

Google Music has been my go-to player for a long time, between my cloud library (so happy to finally have a local library again, with SD card) and streaming. I've seen comments about the music controls on the Second screen, but I haven't seen any specific to Google Music. Just wondering if you get the music controls and how well they work.

I should be should be getting the V20 tomorrow thru work, assuming it finally shipped. Coming from the Nexus 5x. Can't wait. Thanks in advance.

You get back/pause/play/forward and track name. It only shows when the main screen is off. You have to scroll to get to it and it shows only when the main screen is off. Also, it only shows for a few seconds and then reverts back to the default "notification icons / time". I would like the option to have it stay while the music player is active.

I hate to break it to you, but the LG music Player and the Google Play Music application do NOT fully use the ES9218 DAC on the V20. Both applications convert DSD files to PCM and both players decimate anything above 48khz to 48khz. I have spoken to the folks that make USB Audio Pro. They said that Android 7 stops them from sending native DSD to the DAC, so they convert to PCM also. I am currently speaking with the developers of Neutron Music Player and they are trying to see if they can get their application to fully utilize the ES9218. Onkyo, the makers of Onkyo HF Player have not gotten back to me yet. The folks that make AIMP say that they cannot do it. The developers of Poweramp are looking into it.

Black Player here

It's nice, many features and able to write to sad card (many apps don't)

I'm on at&t and the lg calculator is missing as well. I used that calculator a lot. I don't understand why lg wouldn't include their own music and calculator app on the V20.
I came from the V10 and those apps were there. It doesn't make sense to me. It's like they're forcing us to use the Google apps....smh

I didn't even notice AT&T removes the music player because I use Rocket Player (works well w/iTunes libraries) and sounds great
