Need a new phone NOW!

Careful "renting" the Rezound... I haven't checked myself on this yet, but someone here posted that the restocking fee is actually $135, because you keep the Beats earbuds. Can anyone confirm/deny?

I don't see this happening. There is nothing on the receipt that says anything other then a $35 restocking fee. I am renting a Rezound and am planning on returning it. The headphones are still in the box and have never been touched. Even if I did use them there is no way they can refuse a return or charge me extra for it unless it has been damaged.

Just buy a Razr and return it when the Nexus comes out.........let Verizon have a crap load of used Razrs...maybe the used ones will sell better than the new ones.

Is that what you are going to do?

Ya since the end of August. I cracked the screen and a guy made me an offer to buy it that I couldn't turn down so I started using a old blackberry curve until that stopped working than an old lg phone that I lost and then a couple weeks later the contract ended anyways so I have been phoneless for awhile waiting on Verizon. I've been on a ipod touch and since I go to college there is almost always wifi that i can call or text on. Ya the damage part is what has been holding me back from renting one and the restocking fee. This could all be remedied if Verizon would just announce something...anything!

Jesus, You go through phones!
Anyways I feel your pain, I was without a phone for a while. At first it was awful, reaching for my phone when I woke up, to find it wasn't there. In the end it was actually kinda liberating not having to check twitter every 10 minutes or endlessly text about nothing. My social life did take a hit though.
I think either getting a cheap phone and going off contract is your best bet (or, similarly, prepaid) if you insist on renting, get the 4s, for the higher resell value if you miss the window. And be careful with this one.

^This. Same boat, in fact, when I asked the rep. I was with about it. I knew it was a half baked idea to begin with. The girl and 2 emplyees within earshot found it quite amusing, which left me oddly embarassed that I even brought it up. Safe to say, there's no way on Earth they could tack on a $100 surcharge on the existing policy in a corp. store. Totally bogus rumor, hands down. If I could trace that story to it's source. I'd ask Santa to put some coal in their stocking.

I asked my friend who works at the corporate store about this this afternoon and she assured me that it is the straight $35.00 fee for all phones including the Rezound.
