Need advice for a smart watch to go with my S8

Works just fine with android and apple.

I know it "works" just fine. What I was talking about was how well the features were. I know when the S2 came out and they made it compatible with other Android phones, it didn't work as well as it did with other Samsung phones. Certain notifications wouldn't go through, you couldn't reply to msgs from the watch, etc. I dont know if that's the case with the S3, where it just doesnt function "as well" with non Samsung phones.

I have not received it yet but I got a gear fit 2 on eBay for 60 bucks. Excellent condition. The S3 looks awesome but I'm not spending that much money on a smart watch.

The Gear S3 is NOT big. It's about the same size as any other normal men's watch. It's actually smaller than my Gshock.
It is bigger than Gear S2 but it wears well, fits well, and is so easy to access and read stuff on

Another vote for the Gear S3 Frontier here. One of the best watches I have used...

This will clear things up for you, Compatibility | Samsung Gear S3 - The Official Samsung Galaxy Site (Look at the end of that page). But yes, coming from Gear S2 and Gear S2 classic and then using an Apple Watch for 2 months with the iPhone 7 plus, I must say that the Gear S3 Frontier is the perfect combination of looks and function. Apple Watch is great as in the amount of apps available and how useful they are basically not needing to even unlock your phone to do certain things, but that was it, it has been the ugliest smartwatch I've had, and believe me I've had a lot, basically all Samsung Gears, Moto 360 and Asus Zenwatch.

To make it even sweeter, Samsung Pay with MST plus Android and iPhone compatibility it's just a bonus.

You're obviously not much into watches - a normal men's watch is around 42mm. Most Rolexes and Omegas are somewhere between 36 and 41mm. The trend towards gigantic watches is over, as can be seen with this year's new models. The S3 is 46mm, which is enormous. You'll need 7.5-8" wrists for this to look normal. It's an electronic watch, so this can be excused to some degree I guess.

My G-Shock is 43mm btw.

S3 for me. Had the moto 360 2nd gen which had a bigger screen, S3 screen is tiny in comparison, but Samsung features are much better, including that rotating bezel which is genius just shame screen is small.

Ok I'm not really sure how to respond to you here... All I can say is the S3 is smaller than my Gshock which is quite a comfortable size to me (I'm not a Sasquatch, pretty average wrists). You're right though, I don't buy watches often.

I own a Citizen Ecodrive Promaster SST. Measures about 50mm across. I find it a little large but not crazy. 46mm for a S3 would seem small to me. FYI, I only have average size hands.

Hows does the gear s3 affect the battery life of the S8? I understand perhaps you might not check your phone as much etc but with regards screen time how much does it knock off what you would get if you werent paired to the gear s3??

Woman here with very small wrists and this watch looks just fine on me. I get compliments all the time.

I like the slightly larger display of the S3, couldn't imagine doing a Fitbit or something like that
