After having an unwanted Chrome downgrade forced on me via an OS "security" update, I've finally decided I've had enough feature loses and want to move on. The latest downgrade was the forced tab grid/groups layout making tab navigation stupid hard to use. Now, not even setting the flags to disable them are respected. I tried Duck Duck Go, only to find out it uses the same basic layout as Chrome, including the tab layout. That's when I remembered a lot of browsers are based on Chrome. So instead of trying all the things, I figured I'd ask here to narrow down potential options. The main thing I'm looking for is tab navigation that can be handled one handed, and without tab grouping. Something like the old way in Chrome with the vertical rollodex style tab layout would be fine.

Not sure what device you have but I've been using the Samsung browser. There were things that I liked about Chrome but it works for the most part with few complaints. One of the things I heard mentioned from those who used it before I switched was how convenient it was having all of the navigation tools at the bottom, particularly for one handed operation.

I know that this might sound nuts, but give Microsoft Edge a shot on Android.

I like Edge along with the Samsung Browser.

Others I like & would suggest you try are: Kiwi browser, Styx Browser and Bromite.

Can try brave browser
This may work, at least for now. It's Chromium based, but still has an easily selectable option for tab grid/groups. A little concerned that may go away as the function is fully deprecated in Chromium, but I'll give a go for now.
