I just got a new "used" car, and I would like to replace the existing car stereo with something that will connect via Bluetooth so I can talk hands-free and play the MP3's I have on my Droid.

Does anyone have any good suggestions, or recommendations?

I don't want to spend over $250.00 for the unit.

Thanks in advance!

Wow, I didn't know they had car stereos that could do that. I'm still rockin the FM radio on my old beat up truck. Try craigslist or eBay.

Yeah, eBay is the way to go. I would recommend Alpine or JVC. Both are pretty darn good. Haven't looked at models in a while but a little research wouldn't take too long for ya. I recently bought a Lanzar which was about $200 for a touchscreen with DVD and all the bluetooth fun stuff... but it's... well, cheap. It works decently, but I have had some problems with it. I don't know that I would recommend it really... but if you are looking for reasonably inexpensive(which you are) and want most of the bells and whistles it does work out okay. To get a good one(Alpine, JVC, etc) is going to cost you more than $250 but in this, as with all things, you get what you pay for.

I would first check crutchfield to decide on a unit. Then, getting someone to install shouldn't be a difficult task.
When I was looking for a radio for my car a few years ago, it really struck me how fad-like the industry was. All of the manufacturers seem to be making radios that were nearly identical in appearance. The only way I was able to find one I liked was to buy a used model that was a few years old (and therefore from a different stylistic period for car radios) off of eBay.

JVC is a better option and you will get a huge variety to choose from and i am confident that you'll definitely like it. You can get your choice from there, just let us all know when you buy it. I am very exited to know about it.

I have a G1 that works GREAT with the Sony MEX BT2700, it is highly recommended. The BT sounds great and it streams music nicely. Sony also has a deck that has a usb input with all the same features, this one only has a aux in, but it was $150 at best buy. You wont be disappointed. Now I am looking for a stereo that will allow me to control the music from the deck.

i would post a link but I'm new, you can find one easy though.
