I just got my S3 2 days ago. I have a basic understanding of android due to my Nexus 7. I'm still confused on how to use it on my computer as when I plug it in, it will not let me browse the files. I need this option for the PPSSPP emulator. Or even better if you can convert files on here like etc .xxx to .cso or .iso. Thanks I'm kind of new here.

As of the Google's ICS Android no longer mounts a Mass Storage. The only way to do this is to be rooted and then an app download. Also note that rooting to get Mass Storage will only read the External SD not the internal. You may be out of luck.

What? That's not true at all. I can plug in my wife's non-rooted S3 and browse, drag and drop and manipulate any files on the internal or external sd cards. Just have to download the proper drivers, which can be located here:

Not what the original poster was refering to. Yes the S3 can be accessed from the computer to move, transfer and even edit some files, but not as a "Drive" in Mass Storage. As I under stand the OP he is trying to connect to his pc to run a play station emulator. This can not happen without Mass storage.

Basically just so I can see what I downloaded from the internet. Because I need to rename or reformat a file so the emulator can read it.
