I have just purchased a Huawei P20 Pro and it should be with me any day now.

I have been an iOS user for the past number of years and I have some questions about transferring some stuff.

I read the tutorial here (https://www.android.com/switch/) and am wondering if it's really that simple?

I am also wondering if I need this (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.contacts) contacts app instead of the one the Huawei has installed (presuming the Huawei comes with one installed!)

Hopefully my calendar will sync across as I’m using my gmail address for the calendar on my iPhone currently.

I would like to get my WhatsApp messages across but if I can’t its not big deal.

are there any must have apps I should install? Something like a battery monitor? I’m not into rooting or hacking my phones so will be keeping it with the stock OS.

Any advice is appreciated!

GSam is one of them, AccuBattery is another. (Since you should keep the battery between 40% and 80% for longest life (that's true of any lithium battery, including the ones in iPhones), you should have something that gives you an alarm when you run too low.

Rukbat, I didn't know about keeping battery between 40% and 80%. Do you mean I should charge the battery only to 80% each time?

That is the theory for maximizing the battery life.

I do the 100% to 30% because that fits my life better. :-)
