I'm about to get myself a new phone after quite some time with the droid RAZR.
I'll jump straight to my main question: is the LG Optimus G still worth buying? And will it match up against current flagships (I am aware that the Optimus G is LG's current flagship, but it's got some months on its back) like the HTC One or the Samsung GS4?
Here in Denmark it's (roughly calculated) $400 cheaper than the One or the GS4 or $200 cheaper than the Nexus 4 (which actually is out of the question because of the lack of LTE)

Thanks in advance!

We all face this type decision when we use good judgement in this type emotional purchase decision. I always buy the model with 3-6 month on it. I always save and now they are all great phones. Go g.

It's a bit difficult to tell someone what their money is worth and here the most expensive phones you can normally buy if you let the carriers subsidize your phone by signing a 2-year contract is closer to $200-$300 (so I'll never find a phone that's $400 less than the newest ones). I also haven't actually used the Optimus G.

That being said, looking at professional reviews and the specs it has, I'd say that it's probably a really good buy and definitely worth strong consideration. The chip set isn't the absolute latest and greatest, but it's still good. It has as much RAM as the other flagship phones. If it were me I'd spend $400 less for it. As it is the difference I was looking at between the S4 and the next best choice (for me it was the S3) was only $100, so it was a much easier choice. So far I've observed that my old phones run low on RAM before they act as if the processor is too slow. So having the same amount of RAM and a nearly as good chip set isn't that bad, especially if you primarily use it as a phone rather than an up to date gaming system.

The screen is a bit bigger and higher resolution on the One and S4, so you may have to take that into account. However, I wouldn't spend $400 more just for that small of a screen upgrade. I almost didn't spend $100 for it.

I would agree get the LG. It looks like a solid device, that should bring few problems.

LG does look like the best buy, but I would invest in the S4 (personally love the features) if you don't plan on changing phones for while it could be worth it.
