need help finding a note app

Happy New Year!

I have a year-old Samsung Galaxy S10e.

A couple of months ago I installed Samsung Notes and imported my notes into it. Unfortunately it doesn't allow easy copypasting. So I'm looking for a simple, free, and preferably ad-free note app. I'm not phone-oriented at all, and don't do any work. I just want to keep lists, addresses, etc. on my phone, cut/copy/paste to and from other apps.

I installed Colornote but it doesn't appear to have an import function.

I installed OneNote but it requires connection to email (I keep data off about 99% of the time, plus I don't need Microsoft reading my grocery list).

I installed Keep Notes, but again no import function. Plus I get the eternal spinning circle when I fire it up.

Thus, in an ideal world there should be a note app which:

• is free and ad-free
• can import from other note apps
• has decent cut/copy/paste capabilities

Any recommendations?

How did you import the notes? Usually sign in with your Samsung account everything sync, I have no issues copy or pasting.

I don't recall the exact steps, but after installing Samsung Notes and launching it, ISTR there was a screen asking if I wanted to import.

Other note apps, I can just swipe some text to highlight, then hold and choose cut or copy. In Samsung Notes, I cannot seem to select a whole word or line. I just get the vertical line cursor with the blue teardrop hanging off of it.

I can select a word by holding down on it, but not a whole phrase or line.

Maybe you need to use Samsung Notes more to learn the in's and out's of it? In Samsung Notes, all you have to do is hold down on a word, then when the blue box appears, simply drag the blue dots to your starting/ending points then touch "copy". Go to where you want to paste the info, press and hold and select "paste".

If you have them sync to your Samsung account, long press the app Note and clear its data and force stop., see if it returns to normal?
