Need help found phone

I found a razr maxx recently with no sim card was just going to use it on wifi but I need to know how to reset the whole thing and do that any answers would help please and thank you.

First, call Verizon and tell them the S/N to make sure it wasn't reported lost or stolen. They may be able to contact the rightful owner if so. It's the right thing to do.
