Just for some reason recently I noticed my S6 Edge Plus isn't creating/saving pictures in my gallery when I ask it to. For example when I'm browsing Facebook on my phone & click on a picture I like. Then click the 3 dots on the corner of the screen & click "Save photo" USUALLY it use to save it straight to my gallery under a "Facebook" folder but for some reason something is blocking it & I have to go under "My files, Device Storage, DCIM, Facebook" & all the photos are under there instead?!? How do I get it to just go directly to my gallery vs having to go under my files! Very annoying

Also the same kind of problem when I edit a video with Samsung's video editor. When I save/export a video I just edited it would save it to my gallery under the "Video Editor" folder. But now it does the same thing I mentioned above. & for some reason when I try to move/copy to a folder I have in my gallery I don't see it when I click on that specific folder in my gallery. WHAT GIVES?!?!

Only thing I've done that has to do with my gallery recently is that .Nomedia folder in the BMWgroup for that stupid Pandora icon that always pops up.. I don't know if that has something to do with it? THANK YOU!

Well, the Gallery isn't really a place in your phone, so your pictures are being saved to the same place they've always been saved. The Gallery only scans your phone for media files and displays them accordingly (make sure that you're setting up the Gallery app to view all pictures or all folders). If you place a .nomedia somewhere in a higher level than the pictures (say, the SD card root), then everything under that level will be considered as Not Media, and therefore, not show automatically in the Gallery.

  • Download "QuickPic" gallery app
  • "Show Hidden"
  • Find desired folder that is hidden from native gallery
  • "Unhide"
  • Go check back in native gallery app

That worked!! Thank you! So would I need to still have "QuickPic" installed in order for it to say unhidden or can I delete the app & be good?

Awesome! You don't need quick pic anymore. But I keep in on my phone just in case
