Need help. Headphone jack is stuck, won't play sound without headphones plugged in?!?

Howdy. I'm new to this android forum here. I have a Samsung Galaxy SCH-I500 from US Cellular. Not rooted or anything. It wont play any sound. I bought it from a private party and it worked fine for a little bit. It wont play any sound unless I plug in my headphones. If i remove them, they won't play anything. One red flag I noticed was when I put the phone on speaker, it wouldn't do anything and I heard no sound. I am concerned. I downloaded SoundAbout as I've read that is supposed to fix it, and it's still not working. I'm really confused and need some help. Is there any possible way to fix it at home? Pleeeaaasse?

If anyone else runs into this. SoundAbout alone may not help. You may have to go into SoundAbout, click on "Wired Headset behavior", and then uncheck "Wired Headset detection". Then reboot the phone.
