they are 99 cents and cheaper on ebay

also, you can plug the phone directly into a PC with the included usb cable and browse the sd card that way too.

I might have one for you. My wife ran over her old ov, and I'm pretty sure the screen is the only thing that broke, when I get home I will take a look at it for you

I don't think you understand. My Phone can't read the SD card. The SD mounter is broken. So I can't do anything with the SD card on the phone at all. :P

ohhhh by "sd mounter" I assumed the adapter to mount it in a full size SD slot.

as for the slot inside the phone i do believe its soldered to the motherboard.

Soldering!!! That sounds fun. I haven't figured out how to take the whole phone apart yet tho, not that I have any problems, but I like taking stuff apart. This is unrelated to curiousnoobs problem, but once you take the screws out of the back, how does it come apart, it seems like it snaps in place or something.

Honestly, your best bet is find a used, working phone on Craigslist.

If you do find the part, it will be $10, however, I can't locate one. Then you still have to mount it to the board without frying anything. Unless you have some good skills and soldering equipment, it won't work. If you could find a board for cheap, you could just swap that, but I can't even find those, and even that would be $35 or more.

Just grab a used phone one on sale.

Or say screw your sdcard and try to live without one... even tho that seems impossible.

remove battery cover

unscrew 6 phillips screws (they are tiny)

snap off silver back panel from the front face with a spudger, it snaps on and off.

the side buttons (volume, power, camera) might fall out when you seperate them.

there is a plate holding the USB jack tight, it unscrews with two screws.

i think 3 or 4 more screws loosen the motherboard from the front frame

the screen connector wraps around, disconnect it and lift the mobo off the phone. On my vortex there is a plastic shield guarding the rear speaker and camera assembly, it has to be removed prior to lifting the motherboard. I dont remember if the OV was exactly the same or slightly different.

the screen is held by 4 plastic clips, these unhook and the screen flops out happily, the digitizer is attached with a strong dual sided sticker tape to the plastic front. if you get it off, you will have to scrape both the digitizer and the front frame clean and apply new adhesive.

also, on re assemly if you forget to pop the buttons back in youll feel very stupid. ask me how I know. :D

I know you figured out how to flash without a sd card. But if you are still looking to fix your I can offer a alternative. As most know I picked up a SGS4G for T-mo, I sold the plan to asadullah and plan on selling the phone. If you are interested PM and we can talk. I know the ebay average right now and will go lower than they are selling there.

BTW my Optimus V has the older screen. Just FYI.
