Need help, phone is being weird

My phone will say its not charging when i have the charger plugged in. When its not plugged in, it says its charging. Its only been doing this for and hour or two.

It may be a faulty USB port on the phone. Could maybe try a new USB cable, which is usually the cause of being plugged in but not charging. Not sure if that's the case this time since it also reports charging when not plugged in.

Going off of what Mooncatt said, check to make sure there's no debris among the metal pins inside the microUSB port. If you can find one of those compressed air dusters, they work wonders for clearing ports.
