NEED HELP ROOTING, Software number 3.30...

hi, i got a new htc evo, and after doing research it is a slightly different version than prior htc evos.

Android version- 2.2
Kernel version- 2.6.32.15
build/software number- 3.30.651.2

please help. unrevoked isn't working for me on pc or mac.
i just keep getting the cant faind misc. error... huge downer.

id just like to add... this is my first android phone, but im not new to the hacking scene. iv hacked all my iDevices.

Tell me your hardware version, then power off your device, then hold down the volume down + power and it will boot into the bootloader. When your in the bootloader, look at the top left and tell me your hboot number.

After I got that info, I can help you out no problem

I saw in xda developers that unrevoked doesnt work in new evos... I had the same issue

Yes I can, but I'm gonna tell you right now that your hboot is gonna make life hard for you, but heres a link for you.

If your comfortable with that guide after reading it ALL, then go for it, otherwise you may want to wait until all the kinks have been worked out.

I just bought a EVO 2 days ago and wanted to root it as well. I have HW version 004, Software 3.30.651.3, and Hboot 2.02.0000. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
