Need help ( SODTWARE UPDATE FAILED)

Was trying to update thru Verizon update assistant, Half way thru, I get the message "SOFTWARE UPDATE FAILED".Npw its telling me to use the Verizon software repair assistant. Problem is, that is wanting to wipe my phone, and I don't have a current backup. Can't boot to download mode or anything, just the blue screen saying update failed. Is there any way to recover the phone without wiping? Thanks for any suggestions or input.

I don't believe there is at this point if you have no control over the phone. Even then I think a reset would be about all you could do. Sorry, nothing good.

I am not familiar with Verizon software assistance, but the only way I know how to get the device back up and running is to use a PC program called Odin. That will cause a wipe off your data.

I just flashed the firmware from sammobile, its updating now, fingers crossed that I didn't lose everything. I'll let you guys know in a second

Semi success, flashed an older firmware via Odin and it worked. Phone is back up and running. Lost a ton of pics. But everything else seems to be the same. Thanks for the input.
