thanks. It would have been nice if Acer would have indicated to download to a pc as I did everything via the tablet. I've done all you specified. So does this mean, as I can see my Acer files on my pc, that usb is installed / working and can see the setup.exe. Do I need to run the exe again (that is on the tablet)?visit this site
Connect Acer Iconia Tab A500 to PC via USB for Transferring Media Files
and follow the instructions
ON THE COMPUTER:
9)Once downloaded, you will unpack the .ZIP file. Right click on file you downloaded and click on Extract All.
10) Choose the destination for where you want the files extracted. You can use the same location as where you downloaded the .ZIP file.
11) Locate the Setup application and double click on it to begin the installation
12) Choose the language in which you wish to install the application
13) Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation
After the installation of the USB driver is complete, turn on and connect the tablet to your PC with the supplied USB cable. Once connected, the PC will recognize the tablet and assign it a drive letter so you can view its contents.
I just hooked up a keyboard, which I should have done instead of asking the question, & sure enough it works. thanks all. Now all I need is a mouse which I guess we'll have to wait for 3.1
Been there done that although with a Lanovo. Couldn't get to work. The details, which I read after I got it & tried both with the supplied dongle via USB (but in retrospect it was prior to getting the USB driver) & just trying to sync via direct BT, that the required OS is only PC not Android. So although the Logitech worked on a PC you don't know if it will work on an Android.considered using a bluetooth keyboard/mouse?
i bought a bluetooth keyboard/mouse with bluetooth adapter (for computer) from Target for around $25 (logitech)
if/when i get this tablet i plan on using them through the bt adapter instead of hooking up a usb hub for 2 peripherals
