Need help updating galaxy s5

I have a galaxy s5 G900A that runs android 4.4.2 and I would like to have it updated to a higher version. There are videos of Android 8 running on a S5, but not on the G900A model.

I am afraid that due to AT&T's decision to mega lock down their bootloader after the initial firmware, G900AUCU1ANCE, over 4 years ago which prevents AOSP custom ROMs or kernels, there is little interest or support for the model, G900A. See, #1.6 of 42 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide. This is why you see so many custom ROMs for the easily rooted global model, G900F, and others with ROMs for up to Android 8.

There are a few ROMs over on xda developers that can get you a little more updated...
