I rooted my gs3 and trying to use wifi tether and it won't allow it.... I watched vidoes from here and its not working I have jellybean 4.1.2. It seems that samsung kies air is stoping it or not. Can anyone help?
A couple of things: First, you need to give us something to work with. What tethering app are you trying to use? Exactly what does "won't allow it" mean? Are you getting any error messages? Does the app not run? Does it run, but you don't see the phone as a device when you try to connect to it? Do you see it as a valid WiFi access point, but can't connect? You can connect, but can't access the internet?
Yes, we can help, but only give you tell us what's happening.
A couple of things: Since you're in this forum, I assume you're on Sprint. If not, tell us that. Then look at this thread: http://forums.androidcentral.com/sp...652-wifi-tether-jellybean-here-confirmed.html . This is the only version of WiFi tether known to work on Sprint GS3 Jellybean. Also, you need to have WiFi turned off before you start the tethering app, so the app can control the WiFi radio. Also make sure Sprint's connection optimizer is turned off.
