Okay, so i go to root my Samsung Fascinate... I was trying to download 1st Kernel.. Everything seemed to be going well and such, and then my phone just went to recovery mode. Android system recovery <3e>. When I press "reboot system now" it turns off, the Samsung screen will pop up, then go away, then pop back up and it will take me directly to Android system recovery <3e> again. I've tried every option and i'm getting nothing... I even did the "wipe data/factory reset" and nothing has changed... PLEASE HELP!!! and also, i am using a MAC so please help if you can :(

froyo i believe. it's stuck in a boot loop. i think i need a stock rom reset. i have no clue how to do this though..

i dunno. it was just the first one it told me to download after i rooted it. then it froze. like come on wtf.

like come on wtf.

not going to get far on these forums with that type of attitude...

there are plenty of amazing tutorials available (see the "stickies") and many wonderful people here that can help.

1st question.... did you take the time to read and research before trying to root and install custom roms/kernels? Or did you just dive right in?

No offense.... but there is no "short cut" at rooting and romming... you have to put the time in to reap the benefits

EDIT - I would this ENTIRE thread before going any further: http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve...formation-mac-os-x-users-updated-04-07-a.html

Its in the stickies at the top of the forum page.... it is specifically for MAC users

i'm sorry but there wasn't an attitude? i did the research, and i didn't say there were any short cuts. I went to that sticky that is specifically for MAC, which is a tutorial. and that's how i ended up in this mess..... Thanks.

considering that thread is probably the most extensive and precise guide for MAC users available (and MANY people have been able to benefit from it), my guess is that you just found a thread and thought, hey, this looks neat before doing any research. Considering your first 6 posts as a member on this site are in a thread asking for help you out of trouble, that means you didn't do enough leg work asking questions BEFORE trying to mess with your phone.

But relax.... take a step back, a big breath, set the phone down for a few minutes and go over that whole guide COMPLETELY.... then try it again.

It also wouldn't hurt to ask question in that thread directly, you are bound to get more help from more people that way.

Good luck

I understand your frustration. I didn't use mac, so I'm not familiar with the steps, but looking over them now, I'm guessing you clicked the 1st kernel, then yes, 2.2, then yes do it? then it went to cwm? how is that if you install cwm after? I suggest starting over from step one. Also ask in that thread like JOrtenzi said
