So I got my new Evo 3D! All I can say is WOW! Coming from a Pre- it just amazes me! I love the screen most of all! Playing games like Angry Birds is even better!

So I have a few questions for all you of Android Fiends out there!

1) Apps

I am not used to having soooo many apps! In fact I love it! I just find the app store confusing! Reasons are because one I dunno what I am really looking for. So while I have downloaded all of the main stream apps how do I go about just looking generally for the other small cool apps?

Would love an app for forums! What else is there that I am missing out on? Also is there way to get my gameloft games from them and port them onto Android with out buying them again?

Amazon app Store has also been installed on my device from me. Should I stick of one app store? If so what one is the best and why?

ALso how does the Android market know that I have bought an app? Do I need to sign in some how with my gmail account or is just having it on the device good enough? I will soon be adding my work email and another personal email account that are both also gmail. How does it know what account is the main one?

2) Charging the battery!

Would using my old Pre- wall chargers and cables hurt the device? I have 4 Touchstones. I like the Palm USB cables. I know it sounds stupid but I am just wondering.

3) Email client....

So I have setup my gmail account on my phone. It pulls all of my info from there. I have founf both email and gmail clients are running at the same time. How do I turn the "mail" client off? Id just like one to work and I'd like that do be the gmail client.

Sorry for all of the noob questions! Still new to Android. I did some searching around. Just not everything was answered fully. Thanks a lot in advance! :)

Loving the community so far! Next step well be rooting! :D

The Pre charger won't hurt your phone but it may charge at a lower rate than you 3d charger thus taking longer to charge the phone. The android market knows that you have purchased or downloaded an app. It identifies you by your gmail account. I'm sure someone else will Chime in to answer the rest of your questions.... I almost forgot... WELCOME!!!

Tapatalk is a good forum app.

I use both markets. I use Amazon mostly for the free app of the day.

Go back and read Android Central's weekly app picks http://m.androidcentral.com/tags/weekly-apps

Did you enter any login info into the regular mail client?

THank you for the replies!

I will end up using both markets I bet in the end. Amazons free app of the day is cool.

I will go back and read up on that tonight Newboyx! It will get me started!

I dont remember doing it. I guess I could have. How do I turn the mail client settings off and only have it use the gmail client? I thought I found it this morning but closed out and I cant find it again for some odd reason. :)

Even if you leave the regular Email client running, I seriously doubt that you will notice any issues with your E3D. If you didn't set up any accounts, it isn't even going to try to sync. You have a lot of RAM on this device (don't bother with trying to manage what tasks/processes are running - let Android handle it)

As people have said, the Amazon App Store is great for the free apps, which is pretty much the only thing I use it for. It's great, though, if you have other devices set up with different gmail accounts. We have a rooted Book running Honeycomb that is set up with my dad's Google account, but I used my log in for amazon so that the free apps would transfer over.

As a converted Pre owner myself, I use the charters all the time. I also just converted my girlfriend from a Pixi to an EVO Shift, and she uses the charger from her Pixi because the cord is longer (though, I'm not sure why she doesn't just swap the USB cords.)

Now, for the mail client. The gmail app works so much better for gmail accounts (I'm not sure why the stock email app doesn't support gmail push on a Google phone.) The stock app, however, integrates with the People contact manager, so you can see the contact you've had with a person through their contact listing. I have the stock app set to sync as little as possible (ever day, or every 4 hours) so that I can maintain that feature. Same with Facebook for HTC Sense.
