I have a Samsung S22 that is 2 years old with another year left on the contract. I am only paying less that $2 a month thru Verizon but the payoff is $283.
The phone is getting quirky and battery drain is a problem. Is there anyway I can get another phone and switching to it without having to payoff the current one? I used to get a new phone every 2 years, but they changed it to 3.

When you buy a carrier-locked phone, there's always a lot of babbling legalese and some pertinent, documented verbage included with your purchase. Read through that original contractual info to see what's covered with the phone they sold you. Hopefully Verizon will be responsible for the whole tab since you're still tied to them by that contract, and you won't have to pay them anything more to have it fixed and/or replaced. Or you might have to pay a percentage of the cost. But you do need to do all this through Verizon.

I'll contact Verizon and see what they say.
