Need Opinions on rom design from experienced builders

I am going to build a ROM using Aeneas Froyo Build Your Own Rom and i need some advice for designs to try and make on the ROM. Also stuff like apps to include, wallpapers, boot loader, etc. I think i have a boot loader picked out, if you want to see it just comment and i'll post the link. And i am new to this ROM building business so don't get aggravated if i tend to ask a lot of questions. The reason i am asking is because i don't have a clue where to start, and i don't have a very fruitful imagination. I will appriciate your help. thanks!!

Which status bar should i choose?

I personally like the first one. Feel free to use any of the theme mods I made found in the bumblebee resurrected thread, they should work with this ROM.
