Need some advice and input about the Note 8

Not here. I've been trying to book an appointment at the genius bar for WEEKS. There's very few appointments in the city anywhere. I went into my local apple store a few days ago, and they were a zoo. Every single person that came in was asking about the battery. I just have to wait for now. If I could just go get my battery fixed, I could save myself the aggravation. I have the 6s+, and it's one of the phones that actually NEEDS a battery. So many people coming in don't even need it. That's so frustrating. Ah well, I seem to prefer the options on the Sammy phone anyway.

My biggest issue is the cost of my S7E for what I'm getting, I guess. I just paid 799 Canadian + tax and warranty protection for a phone from 2016. I mean, it's fine, but I keep thinking, damn, you know for a bit extra you can have a much newer phone that is likely to run well in two years. I'm not sure how the S7E will be in two. I don't know, I always second guess my phone purchases because I never get a phone without problems, it seems.
I *do* like the S7E, but I like the gentler curves on the Note 8. I'm quite torn. Deep down I think I want the Note, but not sure I want to justify the other 600 bucks for it. I just can't help but think the pen feature would be awesome for what I do.

Sorry for the rambling. :-D

I swear Jen - once you've made the move and have the Note 8 for a week, you'll never look back. The thing is SO SLICK, it's insane! My wife get's mad at me 'cuz a hardly ever put the damned thing down! I'm 67 years old but I worked in Medical Imaging so they've always been a part of my life. They can just do so many things for you...

Oh, I hear you on the spouse being mad at you part, Jim! Haha. My husband is just not a technology person at ALL, and doesn't get my need to acquire new tech. I'm addicted to everything gadgety, and I'd rather have a new phone than jewelry or shoes. And age is just a number, you know? My dad is 84 and just asked me how he can get YouTube on his television. My 80 year old mom called me using Google Duo to ask me about chromecast. Technology keeps everyone young. I just feel like if you don't keep up, you age yourself.

I re-read my post - I should have said "Medical Imaging Service". I installed and repaired high end diagnostic imaging equipment for a large German manufacturer for twenty-five years, retired and went to work in-house for one of my customers for another five. Then I hurt my back pretty bad and had to hang up the tool bag... love technology! It's a good thing these phones are so tiny or I'd probably be taking them apart and getting myself in trouble!
