Need to help mark emails are read

So since coming from my ex-Blackberry I haven't been able to figure out how to mark my emails as read. I've looked in Settings and options but I can't find a way to "mark as read". I don't like to check all my emails.

Long-press on the email you want, and tap the mark read button.

The long-press is a very important move on Android OS. Semi-equivalent to a right click on a desktop computer mouse.
