I can see this applying to new customers, but existing? What if one fulfills their NEXT agreement and just puts their sim in another phone that was purchased elsewhere?
Now if someone (existing customer or new) walks into AT&T and says I have another phone that I want to place on my account, I could see them getting pegged for that activation fee. Is it really required to even go to AT&T in the first place?
Some people don't even know how to swap a SIM, so they'll go into the store and end up paying $20 for a rep to just eject and insert.
The avg person on this forum most likely are not in that "some people" category that pay for a sim card swap.
That said, did swing by Best Buy & asked if they could match Sams Club pricing. They said no as Sams Club requires a membership & this is a pre order. Which I totally expected. Then followed up with asking if I did go with BB could they waive the activation fee as am a long time ATT customer. They said no & that activation fees are charged by ATT & there was nothing they could do. I went through 6 people to find that answer from them.
As mentioned, I don't pay that fee & look for places that will waive it.
Sorry to derail the ops thread & hope BB takes care of things for you.
ATT say $594 for a new Galaxy 7, the Edge 7 is $694.. I phone is plus is $769, 32 gig.
gonna run by Best Buy also tonight
Then by all means if you can swing waiting 10 days. Pre order the S8. It is $50 off via BB & $699 all in. Has 64gb storage with the free VR included. Which you could sell the latter if you were not interested in that after receiving it.
